Frankford Commercial Corridor Cleanup
The Travis Manion Foundation in collaboration with Frankford CDC and PhillyRising planned and executed a large-scale cleanup in Frankford. In the morning of the cleanup hundreds of volunteers arrived at the St. Mark’s Church where they were divided into groups to cleanup and beautify blocks around the community. Volunteers gathered their cleaning tools and walked over to their assigned areas where they began removing trash from the streets and planting flowers. As a result of their dedication and hard work over 8000 lbs. of waste has been collected and removed from the surrounding neighborhoods. With the amazing support of the Philadelphia Streets Department, Philadelphia Police Department, Northeast Treatment Centers, CLIP, Turning Points for Children, and the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership, Inc. we were able to initiate and complete this cleanup.
